Learning Outcomes
By completing the Certificate II in Hospitality (SIT20322), students will develop practical skills and knowledge required to work effectively in entry-level hospitality roles. This course equips students with the ability to communicate and collaborate with others in a workplace environment, deliver quality customer service, and respond to a range of customer needs with confidence and cultural awareness.
Students will gain hands-on experience in food and beverage service, including preparing and serving coffee and non-alcoholic drinks, maintaining clean and organised work areas, and supporting basic bar and service operations. They will also learn how to follow workplace health and safety procedures, handle food safely and hygienically, and manage stock and basic financial transactions.
In addition, students will build an understanding of the hospitality industry, developing the skills and attitude required to work professionally in cafés, restaurants, and events.

Entry Requirements
Eligibility for Subsidised Training:
- To be eligible for access to a subsidised training place in an approved course, a school student must meet the following criteria. They must be:
- An Australian or New Zealand citizen; OR
- A permanent Australian resident; OR
- An eligible visa holder (Check the Skills SA website for the full list of eligible visa subclasses).
- Reside in South Australia
Additional Criteria:
- Enrolled in Year 11, 12 or 13 and are 16 years of age or turning 16 years of age in the current year of that enrolment, and
- Are undertaking SACE or equivalent and,
- Have completed a preparatory VET pathway
- Upfront Assessment of Need (UAN) – checks eligibility and readiness
