Celebrating 40th Anniversary and Our New Brand
Alliance College (formerly AHTS) held a grand celebration of its 40th anniversary on 9th December 2021. It was an honour to have Jing Lee MLC, Assistant Minister to the Premier, and Sean Keenihan, StudyAdelaide’s Chairman joining us and to speak at the 40th anniversary celebration at Adelaide Convention Centre.
During the speech, Jing Lee MLC talked about the importance of overcoming COVID obstacles and the importance of multiculturalism in the education sector. Sean talked about South Australia’s strategies to bring international students back and their contribution to the economy.
We celebrated not only 40 years of teaching, but also the wonderful news that we’re changing to a new name: Alliance College. We believe the new name will bring us so many opportunities and prosperity.
Alliance means “a union or association formed for mutual benefit”, or “a relationship based on similarity of interests, nature, or qualities”. We are represented by several values, but mainly by multicultural, hardworking, respectful, and friendliness, hence, “alliance” was chosen after brainstorming for days around 50 words as it is easy to pronounce in different nationalities and a strong name, yet friendly – just like us!
It represents the relationship between our school and students, the relationship amongst the students and the last longing friendship they have when studying with us. How each staff intertwine with each other on a daily basis and how you, and key government sectors can be our ally. A broader view as a global partnership, which is what we desire to our students and their careers. A global career.
Our new logo is represented by a combination of the infinite symbol, to represent the infinite possibilities our students may have, and also their journey as Alliance College’s students. The AC initials are symbolised in the vertical, whereas the colour red represents passion and power and naturally draws attention.
